Plot

A coven of Sexy, modern Day vampires ravage the American Midwest with the thirst for blood, while a romantic twist puts the vampires at odds among themselves and with the murderous Illuminati that seek to gain their immortality.

Laced with disturbingly bad direction, from Joe Tornatore (Game Room) that's staged worse than a high school play, amateur editing fit for a 101 editing course in college and a bad screenplay (from actress Hawkes) that wreaks of melodrama and campy silliness, the film simply doesn't connect. It's hard to tell if the film is meant to be a rip-off of Stephenie Meyer's uber-popular Twilight vampire series, but the story certainly embraces similar themes, ideas and plot convolutions.

Making things even worse for Kiss of the Vampire is the dismally flat performances from every single star. There are some decent character actors strewn throughout the picture, but they're wasted in frivolous, one-dimensional roles. Goddard is simply terrible as the lead, Alex, and sadly, it's not really his fault. He's given nothing to do for most of the picture, other than sulk, and when he's finally does speak, his dialogue comes off as cheesy and mechanical.
